New opinions on old music, maybe.......hopefully. Join Simon and his rotating cast of goons and guests as they attempt to offer a slice of colour to retroactively reviewing albums and looking back at chart countdowns. Rock, Metal, Punk, Pop, Rap, Easy Listening, nothing is off limits probably aside from mumble-rap, we’re too old for that.

Absolute paid-by-the-word motormouth Little Si is welcomed back to the pod to discuss the second compilation put out by Kerrang! in 2001.
Whilst we try to keep discussion focused on the Foo Fighters, Sum 41, Marilyn Manson et al, matters soon turn to many topics including but not limited to Christmas dinners, the new Scream film, Eminem’s Mariah diss track, the plight of Prince Andrew and working out if Papa Roach/ Linkin Park was the Nu-metal Take That/East 17.

Sunday Jan 30, 2022
Time to get down (in a hole) with possibly the most underrated of Seattle’s early 90’s grunge big 4 quartet, Alice in Chains.
Simon and Boyd, who have both been long fans of Alice, take a look at the band’s sophomore effort and try to decipher the lyrics of mr’s Stayley and Cantrell.

E40 - UK Chart Top 20 Countdown 17/7/1999
Sunday Jan 16, 2022
Sunday Jan 16, 2022
We ease into the new year with a trip down memory lane back to the summer of 1999. A place where the UK charts were inhabited by such mega big-hitters as S Club 7, Shanks & Bigfoot and The Vengaboys. Can we find any actual decent stuff knocking around at the end of the old millennium though?

E39 - Dance/House music SPECTACULAR! (Pete Tong, Daft Punk, Underworld, Prodigy & MORE)
Wednesday Dec 22, 2021
Wednesday Dec 22, 2021
Full disclosure, both Simon & Neil are full of ‘festive spirit’ in this episode. Be warned.
In 2012 the BBC decided to commemorate the then 20 year career of one Mr. Pete Tong on their radio platforms by polling the great British public for their favourite dance records put out during Tong’s tenure.
We begin by looking back at Mr. We Continue’s work but quickly descend into a full-on drunken tune-fest. Basement Jaxx, Armand van Helden, Josh Wink, The Chemical Brothers and lots, lots more get an airing.
Enjoy the last show of the year and we’ll be back soon

E38 - KERRANG! The Album 1994 (Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, RHCP & MORE)
Sunday Dec 12, 2021
Sunday Dec 12, 2021
So we looked at 2001's Kerrang offering a few episodes back but now let's have a gander over the British magazines 1994 effort of 30 Kranium Krunchin' Kuts taking in 3 decades and celebrating 500 issues of Kerrang!
Simon is joined by old Metal Head himself, Gaz Davies to take in 2 discs of Kontempary Kaos and Kerrang Klassix, all the time bearing in mind that the cd itself warns that this Kacophonous Kollection will make their ears bleed...... Even the Little Angels track???

Marketing Man 1 – “That ‘Shine’ album did ok, don’t you think?”
Marketing Man 2 – “It didn’t sell as well as ‘Dance Zone Level 5’ though”
MM 1 – “Different market, mate, different market. But this guitar music seems to be everywhere, and there’s a lot of it in the charts. I reckon we can make another compilation and make a quick buck or two”
MM 2 – “Can we try not to use old songs this time?”
MM 1 – “We can try… quick, get me Alan McGee on the phone again…”
Simon & Boyd carry on the analysis of the Shine compilation series, this time taking in such giants of the time as Belly, Gene and Gigolo Aunts.

E36 - Limp Bizkit - Significant Other
Tuesday Nov 09, 2021
Tuesday Nov 09, 2021
Hey! The Bizkit just released their new album after a massive 10 year wait and depending on your point of view it’s either a bit of a banger or they still suck, But for just now, forget about that. Instead allow Simon and Neil to whisk you back to 1999 when Fred and the boys dropped the Nu-Metal megahit to find out if it really is all about the ‘he-said, she-said’. A buzz saw of bad attitude, metal guitar and white-boy rapping, Limp Bizkit's breakthrough album, Significant Other, is unapologetically rude and immature. But perhaps more importantly, it also rocks very, very hard.

GIRL! I wanna take you to a gay bar! But instead, let Simon and Stewart invite you to their own soirée, digging under the hood of Detroit band Electric Six’s initial long player offering.
